Dr. Nick Hadjinicolaou is a seasoned strategy, project, and quality management expert with over three decades of industry and academic experience.
As the Founding Program Director and Associate Professor of the Master of Project Management program at Torrens University Australia (2014-2023), he successfully established and led a world-class curriculum.
Nick’s extensive career encompasses senior leadership roles in portfolio management, digital transformation, Agile methodologies, ICT management, and business operations. His expertise has been instrumental in driving successful outcomes for clients including IBM, Telstra, 3Pillars Asia Pacific, Business SA, the state government, NCVER, Torrens University Australia, and BAE Systems Australia.
A strategic thinker with a proven ability to deliver complex projects, Nick is adept at navigating challenges, building high-performing teams, and achieving measurable results. His deep understanding of industry best practices combined with his academic rigor make him a sought-after consultant and trainer.
Driven by a passion for learning, coaching, and collaboration, Nick is dedicated to empowering others. He holds a BSc, MBA, and MPM from the University of Adelaide, and earned his PhD in Strategic Project Management in 2019. His research focuses on the intersection of strategy and Generative AI, quality, organizational agility, project portfolio management, and project management methodologies. With over 20 global publications and presentations at international conferences across Poland, Jordan, South Africa, Germany, America, and Australia, Dr. Hadjinicolaou is a recognized thought leader in the field.
Dr. Hadjinicolaou is a highly credentialed professional with a comprehensive suite of certifications.
He is an IASP Certified Strategic Management Professional (SMP), the first in Australia, and a Strategic Management Performance System (SMPS) from the George Washington University. A Baldrige Performance Excellence Champion (BPEC) certified expert and 6Sigma certified. In the project management realm, he holds PMI Program and Project Management Professional (PgMP, PMP), AgilePM, and Scrum certifications, including advanced levels (CAL-E, CAL-T). His expertise extends to Scaled Agile, with SAFe6 Agilist, RTE, and LPM certifications. Additionally, has completed the AI for everyone from Deeplearning.AI, and has recently earned PMI certifications in Generative AI, Data Landscape, and Prompt Engineering for Project Managers.
Currently teaching strategy and project management in an MBA program, strategy certification and boot camps, Agile Scrum and 6Sigma training and certification programs. Dr. Hadjinicolaou is a dedicated educator. He is the Founding President of the Australia Chapter for the International Association for Strategy Professionals (IASP), a Past President of the IMC SA/NT Chapter, and has served on the boards of the PMI Adelaide Chapter and the Association of Engineering, Project, and Production Management.
